The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications
  • The ACEJMC evaluates "professional journalism and mass communications programs in colleges and universities."
  • Do note that "ACEJMC does not accredit programs leading to the Ph.D., which is considered a research (and not a professional) degree."
  • Also note that accreditation is "a system of voluntary self-assessment and external review." Therefore, many excellent schools are accredited by groups OTHER THAN the ACEJMC.

  • The aef is a non-profit foundation whose mission is to be "the industry's clearinghouse, repository and distribution force for educational information and materials to improve the perception and understanding of the social, historical, cultural and economic role of advertising."
